Pies and Tarts – month four – April

Fabric note:

I’ve been sending you a 16.5″ wide pice of fabric for the background squares – which we’ve been cutting 8.5″ – this is too big, cut your background squares 8″ then square up to 7.5″ after you complete you applique – once sewn into your 4 block section each square will finish 7″.

This month we can start building the blocks to our quilt – if you feel like you’re ready 🙂 Now that we will have 4 blocks completed, you will square these up to 7.5″ if you haven’t already. Then start sewing your 4’s together after you’ve finished this month.

I also tried connected the pies to the background blocks with a decorative stitch – I really like the way it turned out and it’s a bit faster!

Here’s our 4 blocks with one small tart as the center – what do you think? I’m loving it!!

When connecting your 4 blocks together do them in different sequences and remember when you go to add them into your quilt which is 10 blocks wide by 10 blocks long so that means you will only need 2 of these plus a 2 some – make sense?

You don’t have to have your 4 blocks sewn together for the draw just you 10 pies and 10 tarts have to be complete for the draw entry!!

Have fun!

Hi Isobel, thanks for your feedback on the silks – they are so stunning when combined into the block with the cottons, I'm loving each month more then the last 🙂
