Truly Scrumptious – Month Two

Hi Everyone, how’s your blocks coming along – any questions?

Month Two’s theme is in orange and it turned out sew nice. Your background is in Yellow I didn’t have any of the Sunshine Yellow silk in at the time when I stitched my block.

Colour Floss Placement is like this:

Dress, Flower centers, bows on shows, sheels – 2111 Sky

All flower stems – 1183 artichoke or cadet

Flowers, hearts, legs of buggie, Ava’s shows, stockings, french knots – 1333 Lancaster Red

Wording – 1268 Molasses

Lips – 1331 Brick Red

Eyes – 3950 Cheseapeake

I used mostly a short backstitch, I used stem stitch in her dress around the buggie and the babes faces. I also added a V + J in the heart for my personal touch 🙂 Have fun!

Also, you’ll need to cut extra 2.5″ squares then what it says on your instructions to make sure you have enough blocks to go around your stitchery block.

I love this BOM project so much Val. It's so happy and joyful. I'm almost done the embroidery for block 1 and can't wait to get this one going too. I love the yellow silk (I assume it's the same as the BOM Beautiful pictures). I cannot wait!

Oh cannot wait for this to come!

Valerie, I ended up stopping at my local quilt shop and picking up 2 FQs of a purple and a green that I think will go with it. I figured that I could put a 2 1/2 inch square of each in each of the remaining blocks so they don't look out of place only being in the 1st one. I'll get that sewn up tonight and shoot off a picture..hopefully they won't look out of place!…BTW, great blocks completed in all the BOMs…I love seeing everyone's work.

Hi Vivian, thanks for your comment. I like to encourage everyone to make their boms their own – just add a little something and voila it's now unique to you:)

Vivian-thanks for the link/password again! I'll try to remember how to use it next time! I am really glad I checked this out because I would have been scratching my head about needing to cut some extra squares. But I have this info right in time now as I hope to put the 2nd block together this weekend. Can't wait to see Block 3!
