Truly Scrumptious – Month One

Hi Everyone, welcome to Truly Scrumptious, this adorably whimsical collection of the cutest stitcheries and all their friends…working with silks and cottons, as well as floss, my favourite pins, sewing machine needles and sew much more we be an awesome time together.

before adding the fuse to the back of your silk, transfer your stitchery design with a pencil or fine tipped pigma pen using your light box. Make sure your paper and stitchery are nice and centered to each other. As You can see I marked the center lengthwise on both the paper and the stitching.

I’d recommend doing the embroidery before completing the rest of the patchwork.

Next cut your strips for the inner border

I’ve pressed my seams open, you can press however you like the best 🙂

Add your scrappy border now…after I laid this out I added the green but forgot to snap a photo of that part..

lay them out until you like the look or follow my guideline.

Here’s the first block completed…have fun everyone!

Oh man I made a mistake! I was cooking supper and cutting my fabric at the same time. I'm usually great at multi-tasking (usually the only way I can get everything done!).

I cut my long inner border pieces at 2 inches instead of 2 1/2!!!! Eeek!

Ok, breathe. I don't have enough of the inner border fabric now to make sure I have 30 squares for the scrappy border so I am going to go into my stash to see if I have anything that is close. Keep your fingers crossed!

Oh Vivian, keep us posted we don't want you to not have enough fabric – but keep an open mind if you have something close make it yours 🙂
