Journey of a Quilter: Top Finished!!

Okay ladies I’m so happy to announce the top is finished for Journey of a Quilter…I chose the Dark Brown Silk for the Borders, I’ve pieced my back with all of the little scraps left over from the 9 months of cutting all of these kits so my back will be different from yours. I’ll do a demo on the mitred borders shortly.

and a close up…I LOVE how this turned out, it’s so contrasting, scrappy yet elegant and it will be beautiful hanging on the wall…

Thanks, Valerie. I am speaking as someone who is on a "LARGE" learning curve with quilting. Although I have sewn since I was 11 years old, my quilting was quite limited. I have so enjoyed the journey, learning so many techniques, and without the monthly videos and tutorials Valerie put together, I would not have had much of a chance in figuring everything out. Now I can say that quilting and sewing are on par with one another. The Block of the Month club is such a great idea and makes learning to quilt less daunting when you only do a "piece" of the quilt each month.

    Thanks again Val.

OH MY WORD!!! It's beautiful. Simply beautiful. I'm overcome and feel the need to rush right home and work on my blocks.

Hi ladies, yes I sure can post a pic of the back. For your finishing kits I want you to take your leftover scraps and make 1 block that is 20.5" square approx (finishing instructions are coming) and that will be your back center…excited now?

Thanks Candace 😉 for the great feedback!

Vivian, I give you permission to go home and sew 🙂

Isobel, picture is coming for you AND what are you thinking for your finishing kit?
