A Kittens Tale Month 5
Aug-2010
How’s everyone Kitty blocks coming along? Any questions? Well I wasn’t able to get to the “new” pinwheel method for this month as I figured out all of the fabrics a long time ago and since I’ve been gone I didn’t have time to adjust them. But for month 6 I’ve made the adjustments so we’ll be trying the new method.
Now following Lynette’s pattern, she says to mark the stitching then do the applique, but it’s hard to figure out where the stitching goes when you don’t have your applique pieces in places – at least for me…so I’ve placed my applique, then marked my stitching.
be careful on your placement as you will be cutting this block down afterwards
since I placed the applique first I needed to adjust the stitching placements slightly and I had to make the lap post shorter but all in all I think it laid out pretty good.
don’t forget to take the time to square up your half square triangles
Remember to watch which way your pinwheels are spinning unless you want them going in each direction 🙂
(thought I would share with you my new antique scissors I found on holidays)
make sure to square up your stitching block
Remember if you need floss to let me know so I can slip it into your kits and also if you need help, I’m here to help you 🙂

almost finished Kitty Block
Mr “VQ” was in my studio yesterday and he was looking at my design wall and says “You know I really like the Kitty block of the month, better then the Journey one” He likes the colours and how everything’s coming together with the silks and all, what a nice complement hey?
