A Kittens Tale: Block 4
Jul-2010
First I want to share with you this amazing video. Keep this safe and tucked away because for future pinwheels this will work great. For the Kittens Tale however, I haven’t allocated enough fabric for you to make them using this method…that being said, for the next block I will adjust the fabrics and try harder to make this method work:)
there is so many pinwheels and they are sew much fun to make!!
make sure to take the time, squaring up for got to take a pic but check previous entries if you forgot how 😉
When you prepare your applique, and have them fused to the wrong side of the fabric, remove the paper backing, get in place then press – I forgot to mention this step – remember to remove the paper backing before fusing in place.
this is the “dad” cat or Mr. Cat as Lynette called him
remember to trace your applique reversing the pieces or your finished cats will face the wrong way
this is the mum cat
family patch which you won’t be able to see through to trace so just do your best when it comes to the writing
Tracey your embroidery area, then add your applique, make sure you are tight enough with your applique to your stitching, note how much space is on either side of the center block when you’ve squared up prior to the rail fence and pinwheels being added.
get your rail fences put together, 1 long one 22.5″ and 2 short ones. Sew nice and straight on the long one because it could turn out curvy if your not careful.
Block 4 is finished…I’m going to take this with me camping and get the rest finished!!
Loving it! It’s so cheery.
What do you think? Is there anything I’m missing in the instructions or any questions you may have that you would like me to answer? Send me an email, post a comment let me know so I can help you out!
