For those of you who are curious, I use the Random Number Generator to pick the winner each month!!

Because of the holiday…I’ll be sending out the next month package on Monday…including your prize Sandra B!!

Good job ladies it’s nice to have so many finish their blocks each month!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hi Ladies, how’s everyone doing? Not too active on this blog now we must be busy with summery things 🙂

For block 6, of course I loved it, I’m almost done the stitching and I’m going to put my 1st 2 rows together soon…can’t wait to see how it starts to come together. I know some of you have been sewing your blocks into rows already…and…what do you think?

FABRIC CHANGE: I changed Beige C to Beige E Silk because I had a bunch of off cuts that were the perfect size…now I’m sorry I didn’t use the silk in mine as I love it so much!!

fabrics according to colour

fabrics organized according to the mini block (mb) they belong to

I sewed top row, the 2 horizontal rectangles to the vertical rectangles, then to the cute shoe fly block, then sewed 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows together horizontally first then all together

sewed the 9-patch first, then the bottom strip to this block, then the right side, then sewed the left row together vertically then connected to the 9-patch section

started piecing the top row in sections of two, then connected these together, pressing carefully and well, connected the sides to the stitchery block, then the top and bottom to the stitchery block then to the piano key row at the top.

Block 6 complete, mark your stitching and your’re ready for a good movie (or two).

    Hi Val:

Happy Canada Day. Can’t wait for block 6 to arrive! Hopefully with the holiday today, it will arrive on Monday.

You mentioned that you were starting to sew the first row together. When you get a chance, could you post a few comments on how to do this. I have not done a "quilt as you go" project before so not sure how to deal with the batting and the sewing. Thinking I should square up the block, trim a 1/4 inch off of the batting and then stitch my seams. Just not sure how the back will end up looking. Perhaps a couple of pics could help as well.

Hi Sandy, thanks so much for your comment!! Happy Canada Day to all of you Canadian’s and everyone as well 🙂

When I sew the 1st two rows together this won’t be "quilt as you go" method entirely because we won’t be finishing the seams in that same fashion. For those of you who added the batting for the stitching portion, I will for sure take a pile of pictures and show you what to do.

This will be a beautiful wall hanging quilt and when we finish layering and backing it the quilting portion will be quilt simplistic because all of our hard-work has gone into the stitching part:) I’ll post lots of pictures.:)

Sandy: hi there, I’m so glad everything arrived safe and sound 🙂 Enjoy…if you need any fuse for the backing on the silks let me know and I can tuck it into your next shipment!

    Hi Val:

If you could tuck in some fuse that would be wonderful. Got the block sewn together and now to do the stitching – which I have to admit has been a lot of fun.

    Enjoy the upcoming long weekend.
