Every Bunny’s Welcome – Month 1 July
Jul-2012
Here’s the details for Month 1 – I’m going to try to keep the placement of the blocks etc a secret – but I’m super eggcited so not sure how long I’ll be able to do that for 🙂
Here’s our personalized center for month one – by now some of you will have received your kits in the mail..I hope you like what you’ve received ;D
As per the insttuctions in your super cute kits 🙂 when you make your sashing sections, you’ll have 3 rows of eggs across and down. The spacing in between the rows is perfectly setup for you already…when separating the eggs for your sashing areas, cut the rows apart at approx 1/2″ then you’ll have 1/4″ seam allowance, like this:
I got this book from my mom for my birthday one year and I have resourced it so many times – an excellent book to have in your library. Here’s a link to Amazon, the price is really good and it goes so just click on the link and order one up for youself, if you feel so inclined.
Here’s the stitches I’ve used throughout they are all included in this book and I LOVE them so…
The Coral Stitch (CS) I thought worked out perfectly for the wording – please feel free to use the stitches in whatever locations you’d like as this is YOUR quilt so please make it your OWN.
The Coral Stitch is one that I LOVE but it isn’t a fast stitch, it does take some time to get into the rythym of it – yes ladies the rythym, find yours – this means the time and motion to get the stitch in a good length and consistant. So when you are stitching it you can have a conversation with your friends 🙂
Here’s our trusty ol Backstitch – BS
French Knot (FK) this stitch is one that is used quite a bit througout – and I’ve taken 4 turns of the thread around the needle to make the knots more prnounced. Have fun with this stitch, it took me forever to get this one figured out but now that I can do it – I think it’s just perfect!
Lazy Daisy LD or Lazy Daisie…such a cute one and excellent for flower pedals.
Outline Stitch or Stem Stitch – this is one that you’ll likely use the most for your eggs and other stitching lines. I’ts very versatile and making your curving lines so much more fun then your standard back stitch – have fun with this one. This is your “go to” stitch when it comes to embroidery.
Satin Stitch, I’ve incorporated this one in a few of the blocks as it adds substance and solidness to the embroidery stitches. It stands out on it’s own. One of my favs.
