Truly Scrumptious – Month Eight August

Okay Ladies, only one more month to go!! I can’t believe our whimsy little friends are almost done stitching. Actually I only have a few more stitches left to go for month 9 and I’m planning the finishing kits now!! YAY!!

Sandie was over picking up her block and asked if we could have another month in Purple as this is her favourite colour in this project – so I said sure!! 

Now you need to start thinking about your finishing kits.

See this picture from my Open House, it’s showing the start of putting your blocks together and the skinny little sashing in between that’s an orange with dot. This orange with dot we haven’t used at all throughout the Truly project to make the sashing stand out more. That being said, if you wanted any one of the fabrics used in the quilt for your sashing, please let me know and I can have that put aside for you 🙂

Sew, start thinking about your finishing kit, you’ll need to pick the sashing colour, binding, border (not sure yet how I’m going to do mine) and backing fabric colour.

I usually also tuck in, machine quilting needles, basting pins, thread to match the silk, and other goodies. My finishing kits usually run around $75 or so.

But if you have your heart set on a certain colour, please let me know so I can hold that aside for you so you’re not dissapointed!!
