Truly Scrumptious – month three
Mar-2011
Okay ladies, I think this is my favourite month so far – but I’m in love with them all….
after this solid border above, I decided to try something to make these smaller squares fit together better as I always felt it was a bit big after sewing all of these seams together so I made my seam allowance one thread width wider and it worked perfectly. I was sewing with a 4.5 width on my Janome and changed it to a 3.5 width and this fixed the saggy look (I feel) from my first 2 blocks.
Colours used:
dress, small buds on stems, leaves on shoes – artichoke or kudzu
dress trim, arms, french knots (3 wraps of thread here) shoes, twirls by shoes, flower, french knots in hair – Lancaster Red
Sky blue for eyes
writing, hair – molasses
stockings, stems, leaves at end of arms, leaves in hair – Juniper or
sand for skin tonnes
hope these little colour tips help – but please remember do what you like or what you want to play with for colour 🙂
Have fun!!
AND we now have buttons:
Our Block of the Month Club Button to add to your blogs,
I’d be honoured really 🙂
I Heart BOM Code for your Blog:
Our General Cute Button for Pastimes Online.
Pastimes Quilters Code for your Blog:
Note about Floss: You received all of the floss colours in your first kit each additional floss you may require will be billed separately from your kit price. The reason for this is, it’s very hard to determine how much floss one person will use next to the other and how much floss will be required for the whole kit.
The 6 strand skein, 5 yards is $2. each plus shipping i.e. to ship to Ontario will be approx $3.
I hope this helps answer any questions you may have 🙂 How’s your stitching coming…
That looks so fresh, great colours.
Thanks Anita I thought it turned out pretty fresh looking too 🙂
